2006
In the fall of 2006, Mr. Liviu Marin took innovative steps to change Romanian social attitudes related to drug use and handicapped people by starting “at the ground level.” He has been welcomed into two schools to teach classes in which he is free to introduce the need for God in one’s life to overcome addictions. He addresses social prejudices toward the handicapped, basic causes for them, and the worth of personhood regardless of physical or mental abilities. This ground-breaking effort holds rich promise of impacting minds and attitudes of the next generation. The project enjoys the approval of teachers, administration, students and parents.
This year, we updated our website. As plans move forward for capital fund raising and construction of the Day Center, we trust that presenting the work of this ministry in this way will raise public awareness for the need for prayer, interest in helping to attend to the task of caring for people who have so little, workers and financial support. RHM is deeply grateful for the love, effort and talent God blessed us with in the hands-on service of Mrs. Bettye Liberty, whose heart is now fused with ours.
Proverbs 19:17: “He who gives to the poor, lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for what he has done.” Please pray that God will extend our efforts to give to the extremely poor, and those rejected only because they were born with bodies and minds that do not work normally.
