RO-Mania! 2011
Approximately 70 people attended the first annual RO-Mania! event for RHM at Faith Church on November 20th, 2011. The purpose of the event was to generate awareness about RHM’s history and future through person testimonials from former team members, video testimonials from handicapped foundation members, and a video on inhumane treatment of handicapped persons during former President Nicolai Ceausescu’s regime.
Ceausescu was the Romanian head of state from 1967-1989 and his policies led to thousands of orphaned, handicapped children during the 1970s, 80s and 90s.
In this video, attendees were able to observe the stark contrast in how the Romanian state treated handicapped persons against the compassion and love displayed by RHM’s employees.
One RO-Mania! attendee remarked, “I have known about RHM for several years, but attending RO-Mania! made me realize these are real people with real problems every single day. It makes my ‘problems’ seem small.”
Following the presentation, attendees were able to sample Romanian cuisine and refreshments. It was a positive event and we hope to see YOU at the next RHM function!
